27 fever pricing?
Currently looking at a 2000 27 fever with an xr drive. Guy is pretty firm at 32500. Has a supercharged 500 carbureted with an xr drive. Took the boat out and has a leak sometwhere near the hose that supplies the raw water through the transom. Also has a couple light spider cracks in the gel at the bottom of the hull but doesn't seem to be delaminating or anything and one in the dash Can someone be able to tell me if this is a decent deal?

It's has around 380 hours, 5lbs of boost with aluminum heads. . Valve springs replaced about 10 hours ago. And the drive services last year. Has dual ram hydraulic steering. The interior is in decent shape. Pad and rear seat reupholstered and the bolsters are probably 8/10. Cabin is probably an 8/10 as well.

Can't really answer your question but the two things that come to mind are the engine and transom.
If the engine needs work in the foreseeable future it will cost you $$$. If the transom is soggy, and it's very possible on a 17 year old Fountain, that will cost a lot of hard work/money or both. Check everything carefully or have someone else check for you if you're unsure. Good luck. RR |
That's the other thing I was worried about. Last boat I got Burned on the transom and stringers. Are the older fountains prone to transom issues? I don't want to do that again haha. Spend a lot of nights itching to death

All 17 year old boats with wood can have rot. You may hear about fountains but they made a ton of boats so there are more out there. It also is a hit and miss, my 32 had transom rot, my buddies that is 3 VIN numbers different is solid. Who knows.

yeah that's true. I'm maybe just being extra cautious since the last disaster I had. I mean I know the signs of rot but that stuff can be hidden pretty good. You think a structural survey is recommended?
