42 Lightning differences from 98-06???

What if any major differences are there for the 42 Lightning between 1998 - 2006?

Quick run down is bottom changes. 95-97 small step. 98-99 big step. 00-04 was a slightly smaller step. 05 and up I believe was the last iteration of the 42 bottom. From 98 up the bottom changes didn’t nexessrily have speed effect but from what I’ve been we’re all about handling over 100.

Thank you for your reply. Is there any of those years more/less desirable than the other?

Generally newer is always more desirable but of course that all relates to budget.

I would tend to agree however, I have seen some newer ones that look like **** and older ones that look great.

My 05 is a foot taller from the rub rail to the first chine compared to the 97 model.

I had read that years ago but does anyone know when they started to do that? Or is it only the difference in the deck styles?

I stored my 05 next to my brothers 97 and we noticed the difference. I am not sure when they started. It is a big difference, and it is all in the hull mold, not the deck. The decks doesn't seem to change much.
