2005 Fountain 35 X and Stress cracks

I am looking to purchase a 05 Executioner and noticed some stress cracks in the gel on the transom (above the rub rail) in the swim platform area and where the race fairing mounts to the rear. Is this normal?
Thanks in advance.

Yes. The platform is just hollow fiberglass. Where the windscreen mounts likely came from screws being put in. You may also find them around cabin hatch on deck.

Ok, thank you. I will check the deck as well.

Interesting. This is a low hour lake boat. I can only imagine what a salt water ocean boat looks like with double the hours. If repaired properly, will the swim platform cracks return?

Im not sure if sun and salt are contributing factors.

Apparently rapid temperature fluctuations are though. The glass and the gel do not expand and contract at the same rate.

What I meant was an ocean boat jumping waves and taking more of a pounding than a boat being used on a smaller lake.

I think it more of voids in the gel. My 32 doesn't have any, it did around the vents that are molded in after the fact. When we put the new side vents in and fixed the old gel cracks it was just voids. Nothing any deeper.

I boat in salt and the ocean,,,,,,,,,,,, sometimes getting a little air.:whistle:https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...dae300e4b0.jpg

they are superficial in most cases not structural. The swim platform was likely from backing into something. The ones near the screw mount are from hole being pre-drilled a little too small. Gel is tough and doesn’t flex like paint. Same around deck hatch.
