Prop help 2002 35 lightning w 730 hp

Need some help on the right props. Setup is 730 hp with bravo xr and x dimension of34" x 18 1/4” I have tested stock finish bravo 32 4blades and ran 94 at 5700 with plenty of rpm left, then I tested a 5 blade 32 pitch Maximus stock finish and ran 93 only got 5,100 rpm. Also the boat runs flat I didn’t get much lift at all with either one the only difference was the 5 blade seam to give more chine walk.

Any ideas? I’m thinking of trying 34 4 blade next.

Try a Mercury labbed 15.25” 32 Maximus. That was best on my 03 35, stock lowers with nosecone added. Same x-dimension as yours. A little less power than yours but it runs over 100.

You want the boat running flat. The extra diameter of the stock Maximus was giving you too much stern lift- hence the loose feeling.

Kelly I’m curious did the nose cones help? At what speed would you say they did if they did? Also if they did who’s we’re they?

I had labbed 4 blade 34's (Bravo I) on my 35 as well as 32 Max's. (also nose cones)
The 4 blades were faster. But the Max's were the best "all around" prop on the boat. Mid-range power felt great and fuel usage also improved. If you're going for a big number (100+) in a 35, listen to Kelly O. He gave me quite a bit of advise.

Thanks Terry, I talk to you a while back I think at one point you were selling the maximums. Do you think the nose cones help and how hard was it to install them?

thanks again

On my 03 with stock length lowers, I seemed to hit a wall around 96 with 4 blade 32’s where rpm’s continued to increase but speed did not. The nose cones and Mercury labbed 32 Maximus cured that issue and the boat picked up 6-7 mph with a better cruise and stable feel. Each boat is unique, this was my experience.

Thanks Kelly. What brand cones and how was the install?

Sorry about the oversight- I believe I got the nosecones from CP Performance, had a local marine fiberglass repair shop epoxy and blend them to lowers. Critical part of install is getting them true and blending correctly to help create cleaner water for the prop. These guys had experience and I don't believe the lowers have been touched since then. Wish I had a close-up shot, found this pic you can zoom in to see lowers looked like Sportmaster, painted silver.

Holy Cow that boat sure is yellow! I believe that was the response.
