I have seen whats left of a beak after the tank leaks and it goes boom...wasn't pretty, a friend of mine is lucky to be alive.

Ok the boat in. Now the bildge is dry. Headache commence.

I kept the boat at a pretty good angle in my driveway. Nose high. Any thoughts that could cause leaking with the beak high in the air ?

boat sat level at the shop for a week and a half before they got to it and now it’s dry.

Don't know if this will help but here goes. Bought mine & everything was good, no fuel smell or leak. Filled up all 3 tanks for the first time & the next morning my shop reeked of raw fuel. Climbed into the boat & found the bilge had a couple inches of raw fuel under the motors. Saw traces where it was coming through the fuel hose holes in the bulkhead. Pulled the rear seat & access covers, previous owner had the center sending unit replaced & they only installed 2 screws on the reinstall. Replaced the seal & all screws, sealed it right up.

One other thought: On my 35 EX I couldn't fill the tanks completely or gas would expand out the vents on a really hot day with the cover on. Gas would run down the side of the boat. This wouldn't explain gas in your bilge unless the vent hose was disconnected.

mine didn’t have a fuel odor.
I took it to the factory it was $10,000.00. It was almost $8000.00 just to buy the tanks. It wasn’t much labor. It sounds way more scary to cut the cockpit out than it really is. They cut it behind the side panels. The only visible cut is across the floor at the cabin doors.

I had an old Chaparral that was leaking fuel. Cut floor and pulled tank. Found the tank had been installed with a loose screw under it. Took abt 10 years for the screw to wear thru the alum tank. Tank was still in great shape other than the hole. Found a guy that would weld it. Repair didn't cost much but it was a pain pulling the tank out.
