Fountain Fire Fox
I found a 1988 Fountain Fire Fox 29 w/ twin 330,s and Bravo drives, Eagle trailer, looks like it,s in good shape , They want 37K
Anything I should be careful of ? How do you figure out what it,s worth it is 15 years old Stringers? wood in the seats?? also the only thing it does not have is a swim platform , can you get one ??? Teak or would a tubular one ruin the boat? Thanks Do you think 25K is close? |

I too have an 8.8 Meter it is a fantastic boat. I wouls highly reccomend getting it if it is in good shape. I have had mine foe 4 years now. Every time i think about mooving up I ask what the reason would be and keep her. I'm running twin 600 horse and bravo drives. The drives are mounted too low so it takes alot of power to get it going but they are great in the rough water because they are kinda heavy. I cruise at around 60 and top out at 81. If you have any questions feel free to drop me a line. |
BRS- How did your hook removal go??.......MAN! with 1200horse it would be cool to try some Imco shorties and see if you could break a hun in that hotrod......Doug

The hook removal went pretty good but I still have some more to go. I was a little skiddish about taking too much off and messing up the handling as it drimes like it is on rails. under 65 it carries the nose better and the cruise speeds went up at the same rpm. I am deffinetly going to raise the drives this winter as the prop shafts are 7" below the running surface and with little 27 Mirage plus props the entire prop is below the running surface. I think it has more speed in her I just need to caox it out but somewhere you have to draw the line on dollars spent.
