Yep, mine too. I have to slow the pump down when I get a little over 1/2 full. Takes forever! And it still spits fuel out the vent no matter how slow the gas is going in. My vent hose is looped higher than the fill, so who knows! :(

I can never fill my 27 on the trailer, as you know a Fountain says it's full on the guage "NOT". I have to top it off at the marina and usually takes about 20 more gallons. I hold a throw away wipe over the vent when it's getting close to full.

Insptech,
Thanks for the idea.
It sounds like I need to make a call to the factory. I'll give a call on Thursday and see what they have to say.

Actually forgot I posted this. Just now thought to check it out. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem. Thanks for all the tips.

Insptech,

Where can I find this bottle thing you're talking about? Sounds like it might work pretty good.

Ron,

What news? Guess that means I haven't heard.:D

So how do you know when it is full? Your ear gets wet! ;) :D
Sorry, just had too.

Back to the topic,
A friend, also with a Fountain, had the same problem and installed a 'catch can' in the vent line. I think he said it is kinda like a checkvalve. It swirls the fuel in the can allowing only air to pass to the 'vent side', once full of fuel, it drains itself back into the tank side of vent line, then process starts over again. Said it took care of the problem. I think it is available at speed shops.

Anyone know of these?

Proabaly this unit.

This may be what your buddy put on. This is a deal from Parker/Racor that should solve the problem. I plan on putting it on my 29 Fever this Spring.

Thread not working

Sorry, click on the thread, then click on marine products, then click marine air filtration, then select fuel/air separator, and click on part level info. Good luck.

That's it! Thanks.
Just to repeat my buddy, it totally eliminated this apparent common problem.

The link works now.
