Thanks,Greg.

It might be a Lightning Classic. Low-pro tinted windscreen. Center split engine hatch.

Cash Bar,

Same boat as ours except 500 carbs instead of EFIs. We made the same change...29 Fever to 35 Lightning. The ride is completely different...the 35 can really ride on top of 3 or 4 footers and still give a fairly smooth ride. Should run 84 or 85mph.
The asking price seems a little high. We ordered ours new for $163K. Seat back embroidery, depth finder, engine upgrade, and graphics upgrade to Art Deco, (deleted the silent choice ~$3500).
I recognize the 100hrs, but the boat could be as much as 4 years old. The 00' models would have been selling as early as the summer of 99.' A boat with only 100 hrs on it should be pristine. I think if you got an average price of 35's on boattrader.com, an 00' would be between 130K and 140K. You really need to get a marine survey done to check the health of the engines, drives and hull. Also, the early 500 EFI motors have had some electric fuel pump problems.

Ask to see the performance report from Fountain. It wil have all of the serial numbers and specs down to the prop type it left the factory with. The boat should have 27 or 28 hydros on it. You'd want to know if any equipment wasn't original.

Even if everything checks out, still don't think the boat is worth more than 145K max (that's about 20K depriciation in 3 or 4 years)...maybe 3K or 4K for the trailer.

Good luck with it. We're pretty partial to the 35 Classic. If you're seriously thinking about $155K and don't mind driving, call Greenville Marine in NC. You might be surprised what they can do on a new ordered 35 and how quick they can get it built (ask for Joe).

Thanks for the info. so far. Putting my ideas together on what to do, just one option. I really want a Active Thunder 37' AVH, but need to wait one more season. This would be a 1-2yr. boat for me.

Greg
