props for 42'
 

I just repowered my 42' (1995) w/steps w/700 hps(dyno. at 693). I am using XR's at 1:50. I am only getting 88 mph w/34 pitch props. at 5100 rpms. Twin engs. side by side.

Any suggestions to increase the mph ?

What is your max RPM Limit? It sounds like you are doing pretty good as it is. Are the propes labbed? I heard the 34 is not a very effecient prop as far as merc props go. What brand props are you using?

I am using stk. bravo props. My engs. can run at 5700 rpms. I am thinking of trying 32's.

32's for sure sound better, Labbed may bring a few more mph. Hydromotive props may yield a higher top end but usually loose some in the holeshot.

My hydromotives brought me 6mph over the bravo's. Hole shot is weak but top end is there.

what hydros are you running on your 42 and are they labbed? if i remember you have 500's running 83mph correct.
