boxes on a 42
 

the staggered vs side by side question got me thinking does any one have any experience with extension boxes on the 42's and what they did for handling mph etc.

Most Fountain owners do not use boxes because they are all built with a notched transom from the factory. The notched transom eliminates the need for boxes as I have been told.

Have heard that but i see alot of boxes on the boat both 35 and 42.

Having boxes (although most call them women) on your boat is a good thing for sure :D:D

I love em...just got back from Milwaukee and we ran with some of the Poker Run boys that came to Racine for thier lunch stop.
3-5's and we just walk through them... and smoked alot of the players too.
The old out dated 42 still got it.
We used the -2 lowers. :cool:

I'd be willing to take that OLD OUT DATED 42 off your hands. I'm sure the price will reflect that statement...NOT!:D

I can't get much for her by todays standards...no steps, means its slow.:p

Simply do like you did, overcome the lack of steps with horsepower! It's a lot less expensive and the boat won't spin out in turns.;)

improved handling properties the boxes give you.
I would like to know if you've realized any mph
increase?
