Exhaust Silencers

Looking for a good set of clamp on silencers for a whippled 500 efi on a 29 Fever. I have searched some threads already and have found some good words for Corsa's. I want something removable that won't rob horsepower. Any advice, experience or insight is appreciated.

There are several good clamp on's that vary in effectiveness and basically the more effective they are at silencing, the more backpressure and performance loss. A good solution is to have add clamp on's to a switchable system. When the valve is open to the thru transom, it's also open to the thru hub so any extra backpressure can bleed off thru hub. This is what Corsa does with their Quick&Quiet II system.

Gaffrig by Livorsi www.livorsi.com , HPI I think the best ones are the IMCO Gattling mufflers but they are really long 18" I think. If they are for a fountain the should work though.

Hey 502 KC, how does that whippled 29 run, before and after. Nice size single engine boat.

27,

It is alot of fun. I am also running an IMCO extreme upper. I was running about 74 before with stock 500 efi and Bravo I. At sea level she now runs an honest 85 mph GPS with two people and full of fuel (140 gallons). At 6200 feet with a small pulley she runs about 76 GPS with four people and full of fuel. My boat is a 2000 and ran a lefty hydro from the factory. I am now running a RH Bravo I 28p. I personally thought I would see a few more mph but I suspect my x-dim is lower than newer models running a Bravo I swinging right. Unless the water is good she can be a handful to drive above 75. Looking at possibly raising the x and going to a five blade. It's only money at this point.
