That's what it's all about...the thread should become very active in the next couple of weeks...only four weekends to go!

Finished the detailing of my 29 Fever and got to splash her this past Sunday. It was a perfect day on the north shore of LI with a light wind out of the southwest. Only drawback was the dead calm water. Shakedown run was a bit dissapointing, came up with a captain's call exhaust problem and a strange noise from the port drive...could be a gimbal bearing or internal gear issue. Final problem was a zero gain from my freshly labbed props...exact same performance as last season 71mph and 5300rpm! I am speaking with Houston prop about getting that sorted out. Boat is now at the new Fountain dealer here on the Island - Marinas Cove in Hampton Bays. I had the pleasure of dealing with Vinnie, the maintenance supervisor, and left with a very positive feeling. He has quite a bit of experience with performance boats and has been very accomodating. He took the boat in right away and had several suggestions with regard to my problems and performance enhancements. He, Vinnie, also expressed interest in joining the run. He should post here shortly.

Just an update for everyone, hope you all are having better luck than I! Please post your first season run info.

We need to get the thread active again. Need to have some ideas on pacing, etc. I would like to see us remain as a group with regard to speed, etc. I am sure that some of the 100+ boats would like to "exercise" their rigs to the max, conditions permitting, but it would be nice if they fell back and waited for the slower boats (like mine!) so we can travel as a group and meet up at the same time. Let me know your thoughts.

Gary-

I am alive and well. Spent the last two weeks mounting GPS, oar, fire extinguishers, battery charger, labbed prop, synthetic outdrive oil etc. I had to fit this in between the rest of life but managed to spash it Monday (oh yes, took the day off). Found out the GPS speedo on the boat is broke and the passenger seat doesn't go up and down. Freaked out that I only could go 68 into the wind, then discovered my newly mounted GPS was set to Knots. Cleaned underwear and had a beer.

I am back, let's get this thing movin!!!!

I think we need a final count of boats, but if the number is in the 30's I think we should leave in groups......
