prop direction
Has anyone tried spin their props inward on a non
step 32 fever. If so, did it make a difference? |
I tried it on a 28 pantera and it made the boat feel real loose. I also did not see any mph increase, but every boat is different so it is something you will have to try, just take it easy until you see what reaction the boat will have..........

I tried it on our 42...it felt like chit.
Docking was terrible too. |
Just curious, did you pick up any top end?
|
try it for your self. swap the props from side to side, put your drives in forward to back and rev for forward . But Have YOUR S--T TOGETHER OR YOU WONT HAVE THAT BEEK .
|
Mine came with them spinning in.
Docking sucked, backing up sucked even more! One direction Top end was 76. Switched to spinning out. Docking was great, backing up was like a bow thruster was installed, Top end.......still 76 did not notice any handeling changes. Could not believe the difference just by switching the props around. What used to be a major 3 person job getting the boat backed in the slip, is no longer a problem. (Boat is stepped) |
Thanks for the info, I wont waste my time.

The props have been spinning 'in' on my boat since I bought it. It seemed a little sketchy in close-quarters handling. At WFO, with tabs bumped incrementally to the up-stops (flat water) it jumped into a chine-walk so quick you don't have time to crap your pants. I have never tried spinning them 'out'.
Tonight I switched my shifter cables, tomorrow I am switching the props (hope I remember to do it). I won't have the boat in the water until Saturday, at which time I will post my findings. < 98 Fever 32 - Hydro QIV 26's @ 5150 > |
When I switched directions, I always had to readjust the shifter cable as the drives for some reason didn't fully engage. Never did understand what diiference it makes, since it's not like they jumped out when just shifting directions normally.

US1 - did you pull out the sticks from the dash to make the switch, or do it from underneath ?
It looked to me as if the cables lined up perfectly after the switch. When I fired up the motors on the hose, I didn't attempt to change gears. I'll do it again tomorrow. Thanks for the heads-up. Much better to find out now than when floating off the trailer at the ramp. |
