|
Waitin for animalhouse to post...
He's goin to cry about something again. |
alls fair in love war and boat raceing??
The OLs are Crying Foul Because Reggie used a race boat not a pleasure hull, Sorry after 110 I would want a canopy too.besides The hull is the hull race or not the canopy is the diff.
:D :p |
Lapse of Reason is already chirping.
I really like Outerlimits boats BUT the attitude of some of the owners really SUX. It must be from having to follow Fountains all those years! :p :p :p |
I have owned 3 Fountains and 1 Outerlimits. So does my attitude suck? Lapse of reason doesnt own an Outerlimits, currently he owns a Sonic if I am not mistaken. When we owned an Eliminator and wanted to go to a V hull, all of the guys that owned Fountains that we talked to about their boats were arrogant ahole's. Its not the boat that makes the people, either your a good guy or you are not.

There's always people out there with expensive boats that feel that they're a cut above. I know a lot of people on Southern Lake Michigan with Fountains and the majority of them are good people. I fully agree with your statement that either your a good guy or your not. |
Theres Gentalmen and A'holes...
BB, Its not directed toward all the OL guys just one in particular...He started all the chit, other than that it would have been no big deal.
There wasn't any negativity from any Fountain guys when OL topped it last summer. I saw the 42 in this months powerboat Mag...Bad ass! Kinda pricey though...but if you got it spend it. |
Bunch of people talkin' trash about Fountains.........
Weve heard it before and we'll hear it again, Dont worry we can take it..................doug:) ;) |

The Fountain website states 158.07
|
February 8, 2004, Washington, NC; Despite less than perfect water conditions for such amazing speeds, Pier 57 - Rio Roses not only passed the previously unbeatable 150mph mark, they eclipsed the 160mph mark on a single pass to establish a new v-bottom World Speed Record of 158.705mph. Offshore Powerboat records are established by completing a pass in each direction of a surveyed and certified 1-kilometer racecourse. The 2 passes are averaged to yield the official mark. The 9500 pound, 40' Fountain Lightning, throttled by Fountain Powerboats President and CEO Reggie Fountain, and driven by Hall of Champions driver Jeff Harris, had to battle a beam sea and 12 mile per hour winds to establish the tremendous milestone. In their down wind pass, the Fountain-Mercury powerboat topped the 160mph mark at an amazing 160.394mph. On their return pass into the wind, they ran a respectable 157.016mph, for an average two-way speed of 158.705mph.

Indy..not sure what you want a response to. Good or bad, or Fountain or Outerlimits. Why would I trash Fountains when I owned 3. Obviously I like the brand. As far as good or bad, as I said earlier, the boat doesnt make the man. I am just as impressed that Reggie went the speed that he did as I would be If Outerlimits had done it. Its a hell of a number for someone to shoot for. Now all we can do is sit back and wait for Fiore to see what he brings to the table. In anycase it sure makes you forget about the snow and cold for a while.

Congrats Reggie, Jeff, and Fountain !!!!!!!!!!
