Does anyone out there have or know of a 38 with 20th anniversary graphics?

I was thinking about buying a used fever and having the 1999 anniversary graphics put on it. I was just wondering if anyone had any pics of one - or if anyone knows of anyone who might have one they might be interested in selling.

I've seen the graphic on a 38 race boat but never on a 38 pleasure boat.

Thanks

Thanks Mike but I"m not sure that I want to mess with a race boat. I know the Fountains are made well but running full bore for 5 years on the race curcuit has to take its toll on a boat.

Thanks Downtown, I had a 35 with anniversary graphics but sold it this summer. I loved the looks of the boat but I just want something that will go thru the snotty water without the wife getting snotty at me. I think I have pretty much narrowed down my choices to the 38 fever or a 38 t/s top gun.

Any opinions on which is better?

Re: Does anyone out there have or know of a 38 with 20th anniversary graphics?

I would go for the 42 Lightning. There are/will be alot of good buys. 38 just out of a 35 isn't a big enough difference in my opinion. Can't go wrong with a T/S Gun either. I forgot you had mentioned your x-35 '99 in previous threads.

Downtown, have you ever driven a t/s top gun - how does the ride and feel compare to a fountain?

No T/S, just non-stepped guns. I would just go demo each. I still am 42' guy as having a 35' for 6yrs. IF I would consider a Gun, it would definitly be a T/S. Brandon's does 92 with 625's n/a's.. is a sweet pkg and that could do it for me. They have some spin-out issues like Fountain.

Performance boats is all speed to me. Most of the time I run the boat, it is nice out. I need to go as fast as I can afford-bottomline for me.

Dream machine is 36 Nortech for me. Need to figure out a place to live on the water. I would have one for sure.

I have a 2000 38' Lightning will all white graphics, Twin 500's with 150 hours I am about to sell. I have a guy that works for us that did alot of the graphics for Fountain, and he said it would be no problem to put the Anniversary Graphics on it. If you would like to see pictures, I can email them over to you.

Mike, is that boat still for sale? The last time I talked to them a month ago someone had put a deposit on it and it's listed as "sold" in the OSO classifieds.

Re: Does anyone out there have or know of a 38 with 20th anniversary graphics?

Matthew, my first choice is a fever if I go with a Fountain because of the extra cockpit space.

Re: Does anyone out there have or know of a 38 with 20th anniversary graphics?

The 38 fever is a great boat, but they are very hard to sell. Even though there is more space in the cockpit of the fever, you still cannot seat anymore people than in a Lightning. Also, you do not have the walk around area which makes getting to the bow of the fever a task. The lightning has much better lines, and is much more desirable than fever which helps on the resale side of things. You are definitely going after a great boat, and I would not even consider a Cigarette over a Fountain. The Anniversary Graphics are an excellent choice because there are not many boats out there with it. I had a dealer friend of mine from Cincinnati that called me last week, wanting to know if I would sell my boat because he had a guy that was wanting a 38 with Anniversary Graphics on it. Was it you?

I have a 2001 38 Fever w/ 500's. 65 hrs. Myco trailer. BOAT IS SPOTLESS and I can't even find a mark on the rub rail. Really shows as brand new. Interior is red/white. I can tak the boat to the factory and have them paint it the way you want it. Let me know if any interest

Re: Does anyone out there have or know of a 38 with 20th anniversary graphics?

Hi Matthew,

Yes, Michael was probably calling for me.

Bill,

When my wife and I drove 12 hours to look at Micky's boat at the end of July it wasn't spotless. In fact is had several large stains on the seats - rust around the chrome fittings, a large area of discoloration on the port-side hull forward, and several very noticeable workmanship defects from the factory that we pointed out.

If my 35 was a 9 1/4 on a scale of 10 when I sold it then Micky's boat was an 8 to 8 1/2 at best. If he has taken care of those issues then it might show better now. It was a nice boat but far from perfect. If it had been in the condition that he described then we would have bought it on the spot.

But even then the boat's hour meter showed over 80 hrs on it and I know that it has been taken for test rides since, so what's up with saying that it only has 65 hours on it?

I tell you what......I have Tom Hanshaw's 38 Fever with Anniversary Graphics at my shop right now installing power. Why don't you come down and try my 38' Lightning, then you can take a look at Tom's boat and compare the difference between the Fever and Lightning sitting side by side.

I checked your profile, Pier 57 - are you guys new to Fountain boats because I've never heard of you. Just kidding. I'll give you a call.

Re: Does anyone out there have or know of a 38 with 20th anniversary graphics?

I spoke w/ rusty (one of sales people) yesterday and he told exactly what you said above. He must have done something, because I get boats in from the factory that need more help than this thing. I mean, I was so impressed with the boat I literally walked around it (inside under the lights) and could not find a flaw w/ the exception of the "Fountain" metal piece that covers the rubrail seam on the stern having a few under-paint bubbles.

I'm not trying to work the boat on here, but just for (*(&& & giggles I will take a few really close-up shots and post them.

Also, the only thing that could have been done w/ the hour meter is it was changed out. I'll see if the Mercury computer will give me engine stats (hours, rpms, etc). I mean, there are stickers still on the drives!

I'm just puzzled with this thing!!!

Re: Does anyone out there have or know of a 38 with 20th anniversary graphics?

Yea, it was a nice boat overall but it did have those issues. At the time he wasn't willing to fix them or take anything off the price of the boat to correct them - which after driving 12 hours on his word that the boat was perfect kind of annoyed me.

marginmn - stick to your guns - the 38 fever is the boat to have - it runs great and has lots lots more room in the cockpit - it is a big deal - plus I think the lines on the 38 fever are the best around - I love mine - wouldn't trade it for a lightning - no way. Here's mine - been a great great boat....

LP Boater, is that little falls? We are out of Grider Hill Ourselves. Nice looking Fever you have there. If you look at the recent fountain threads you will see that we finally got us one. Cant wait to get it on the lake next season.

Hey Bob, did that boat come out of Arizona? Anyways, I am not in the mkt for a 35. I had a beautiful 35 with Anniversary graphics and sold it last fall to move up to a 38. My 38 is now back in NC waiting to have the paint stripped and have the Anniversary graphics put on it.
