Removing Cabin Carpet.
 

Has any one replaced the carpet in the cuddy of a fountain. My 92 factory grey carpet is lookin old, so i decided to replace it but i am not sure how much glue fountain uses to stick the carpet. Any help would be appreciated.

It is the special ventilated kind so it should be easy to take off. :)

I used adhesive that I bought at Lowes for attaching flooring on concrete or wood.

thanks so far now what is the easiest way to pull the carpet. It may take nothing but i would assume it is glued pretty good from the factory.

Mine pulled up by hand but in a few areas I used a wide stiff putty knife to help.

several years ago i redid the interior in a 90 40 i pulled all the upholtry and walls out of the cabin i was down to the bare glass. the carpet pulled up very easy by hand, and all in on piece. i used those as a template to cut the new pieces, not to the exact size but a few inchs larger. i used a water proof adhesive came in a bucket that you spread out with a trowel. i started in the bow from side to side first spreading a area about a foot wide and laid the carpet in place and worked the carpet across the bow area. use a carpet knife to cut to fit. if your patient and fairly mecanically inclined its pretty easy. the biggest challenge was being careful not to get glue on the new carpet. make sure its well ventalated as the vapors from the adhesive can be strong in the cabin. good luck!
