I met Reggie!
1 Attachment(s)
I went to the boat show and was fortunate enough to meet the man.
He was very friendly (As I would expect). The thing that impressed me was that he remembered my 20 year old boat and the owner that he sold it to. He asked the name and then told me where the guy was from. As silly as it might be, it was a charge to meet him. Thanks Reggie! Bryan |
Re: I met Reggie!
Reggie and son are scheduled at the new Detroit area dealership Sunday 27 Feb. They must be making the rounds !
I've had a nagging question for him regarding transducer locations and hopefully he'll offer some solution. ed |
Re: I met Reggie!
It was a charge for me as well when when I met him at SBI NY. 2 years ago..
Know the feeling (great Guy) Knew my boat as well! |
Re: I met Reggie!
Very cool,
We bought our first last March (Fountain fan since 1988 first sighting) and being one of the early custom paint orders we had some problems with the top deck. Upon delivery deck art was wrong and Randy (Lake Cumberland Marine) took over. We took her out to sea trial and when we returned Randy handed me his cell phone saying somebody wanted to talk with me... It was the man himself, he was sorry the boat had to come back to NC and we must have talked for a good 20 minutes. I hung up and Randy asked if I had given him the business on our graphics being wrong, My wife laughed saying he%# no, I was to star struck!!! and she was right. One week later boat was in our hands. |
Re: I met Reggie!
As a Fountain sales rep in 1997/1998 I had the pleasure of spending time and dining with Reggie during a Signature Certification class in Jacksonville, Fl. and a few back to back Miami/Ft lauderdale boat shows. The man draws a crowd whenever he shows up!!! He can also pack down some sushi!!!!

Reggie is paying a lot more attention to customer focus and attention to detail on his boats have gone way up. I saw a few at the Boat Show in our area and he has really put his nose to the grind stone to cover all the bases. He and his company are doing a lot of the right things. Everything on my to-do list has been crossed off. The 2005 Fountain's are done right and it shows.
My buddy called me to let me know he is going to be in Harrison TWP, MI next Sunday at Shogren Marine. I personally enjoyed the conversations I have had with the guys at Shogren they seem to be very professional and polite and want to earn your business. I have to re-post the picture of my favorite Fountain :D |

Purchased a 2001 35' fountain and went to factory to see it in 2 pieces (deck and hull). Had lunch with Reggie at a local fried chicken place in town. Nice guy, wore a fountain signature jump suit and a gold encrusted fountain medalian around his neck. Ordered in 02' a 42 with the first fountain custom paint job, dealer had to beg him to do it. Took a cigarette graphic page, doctored it up myself and sent it to fountain. They now offer it on all new boats. I would have liked a rebate on the paint (cost me $29000).

ed Any pictures?/ I had "visitors" in from D.C. for business purposes and could not pull away. |
Re: I met Reggie!
No pictures, sorry. There was a stunning 47 ' that was painted by Mitcher. Made the factory paint look sort of vanilla.

Re: I met Reggie!
Actually it was difficult to take good photos of the boats at the Fountain booth. They had a lot of boats in pretty close quarters. You will be hard pressed to find decent photos of the boats Fountain brought to the show.
