Re: Hull kickers

Wouldn't consider buying a boat without a test drive. And no I'm not going to give a deposit or sign shzit. If someone needs a proof of financial means to be able to afford the purchase, fine. This is always the tough part about selling a boat. Who's serious & who's just kicking tires.

Usually, anyone willing to travel a distance is not kicking the tires. And as much as some owners would like to get a deposit, or agreement in place prior to a test drive, I would love to be able to recoup $'s for time spent, gas, and airline tickets to look at misrepresented pieces of crap.

If someone is interested, i'm happy to take them out for a short run. But, I do all the driving. I have never had a problem demonstrating how a boat handled, or performed.

My only rule is that if we set a time to meet, I'll give you up to (15)minutes to be late without calling. After that f-it, i don't wait around for buyers that don't show, or can't bother to call.

Jonas , I kinda agree with you. The last three boats I bought no ride. I had in my mind thats what I wanted and struck a deal and bought. David

I made a deal with disneyland! I don't give rides and they don't sell boats! Just kidding, If they can buy, I will give them a ride.Ask them lots of questions first to qualify them as a buyer. That's why brokers get 10% It's not as easy as you think. In the end sometimes it's better to trade it in.
