35' Non-Step Prop Selection
I have a 1994, 35' Lightning with stock, 502 mags. It currently has a pair of 25" Mirage's and will spin them right about 5100. I want to go to a pair of 4-blades and was thinking of Bravo I's. What has been the experience for some of you with a similar set-up? Should I go with 24"'s or go with 26"'s and thin them out a little if they don't spin up? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike |
Re: 35' Non-Step Prop Selection
Roll the dice , all boats are different. do you have any one that will let you try different props. I think I would try 25's and have them labbed down if the engines can not turn them. good luck.

Re: 35' Non-Step Prop Selection
Your boat will run well with "Round Ear" blade designs, so a Bravo 1, Hydromotive QIV-X or if you really want to enhance your perfomance then the Hydro P5-X. This prop in particular will really enhance the performance of your boat!

Re: 35' Non-Step Prop Selection
will the PX-5 work well on a non step which traditionally has a pretty conservative x dimension??......(compared to the newer 35s) are we looking at a top speed increase or better holeshot/cruising .........I always thought the non steps were Mirage territory........doug

Re: 35' Non-Step Prop Selection
Hello Doug,
It does indeed become questionable with boats from the 80's. We are typically able to get the 4B props to run but 5B props do need a bit higher X to run right. Julie |
