Any one have any info on the Canoe Races May 12-13th in Naples?
 

I just heard about these canoe races today..... Has anyone ever been there? I was told it is a drunken mess, and a heck of a lot of fun. Any help would be great!

Lots of fun.....that kinda started the jello shots for the Naples crew..........................kinda of like Mardi-Gras on the water!!!!

Are you going to be working that day or will you be at the races? I'll be there for the Saturday festivities.

I started taking that day off and being part of the problem about five years ago. I worked it for thirteen years straight, I had enough. I never have a problem finding a GREAT crew for this event!!!!!!!

So where do these races take place? Where is the best place to anchor or pull up for the day?

The actual "races" take place in Naples bay. The races start around 11, but most people are rafted up around 10. The huge party takes place at Kewayden all day long. Alot of people skip the races and go right to Kewayden. Be prepared or an absolute zoo at Kewayden. Boats are parked two and three deep, and it is amateur hour for drinkers and boaters alike. We have stayed in the bay and skipped Kewayden for the past couple of years because of that. Oh, be prepared to get wet.........................water balloons will be flying!!

Boat will be back in the water somewhere about the first of the month. We will hope to be attending also. How many boats do you typically go out with and do you still raft up. My last canoe races were in high school so I may be a little out of date. Damn I just thought about it, 20 yrs this year where does the time go
