Major Poker Runs planned for Florida's west coast
 

Poker Runs America http://www.pokerrunsamerica.com/index.html and The Florida Powerboat Club http://www.flpowerboat.com/new/index.cfm have both scheduled major events for Florida’s west coast in the coming months. I will attend as many as I possibly can. Here is their schedule if anyone is interested. They are both well run organisations and I can recommend them both.

Florida Powerboat Club:

March 28 – 30 West Coast Poker Run, Sanibel Harbor Resort with Naples Ferrari Club

Poker Runs America:

March 28 – 29 Sarasota / St Pete’s Season Opener, Vinoy Hotel, St. Pete’s

April 11 – 12 High Roller High Stakes Poker Run, South Seas Resort, Captiva Island

April 18 – 19 Ft. Myers 6th Annual Poker Run

May 30 – 31 Center Console Poker Run Hyatt , Sarasota

we are looking real hard about going on the florida powerboat run march 28,29,30th. , how does this compare to poker runs america .....?

Hello Don. They are very comparable in how their weekends are structured. I find the atmosphere at FBC events to be a little more relaxing and less competitive. Very social events. I'm sure you will enjoy it. :D
I am disappointed that both organizations scheduled events on the weekend of March 29th so need to sort that one out. :(

Sounds like alot of fun. I wish we could afford to go. By the time you sit down and fiqure out how much each one of these events cost (Entry Fee, Fuel, Logging, Drinks), I could take the boat 4 or 5 weekends and still have money left over. Have a great time and take a lot of pictures for the rest of us!

I am pretty sure FPC has paid out every winner in their poker runs too..............don't think that can be said for PRA!

I am really thinking aout doing the FPC run, does anybody know what that isgoing to involve, Don you know if I go you and Amanda are invited.

i talked to florida powerboat club, she said thay have details to work out, sounds like a good time, we are planning on going. thunder -struck... let us know if you are planning this run.i just had the piling on your lift redone to hold up all the thunder you make when you come into the lift!.

Nothing in concrete yet, however, schedule permiiting, we are considering one of these two and also taking a 4-5 day cruise out of Miami.

Dennis is that cruise as in cruise ship or cruise as in trailering over in your boat?

Thanks Don M. I saw the guy finishing up the other day when I was working on the boat, it looks good and was interesting to hear how they do it, as far as the poker run I really want to do this one especially if we have a big FMO turnout. It will depend a little on what its going to cost, if it is expensive I cant justify spending a bunch of money to boat on the same water I boat on very weekend. :evilb:

Let's put it this way. My friends from MN just landed in Miami and they were already drunk and had a "Friendly" escort off the plane. They will be in prime form by the time we get there.

Cruise as in ship. We have been threatening to jump on one of those last minute deals for a long time. Considering doing one of the deep southern Caribbean tours on the northern coast of South America.

The cost of that trip isn't anymore than a weekend of boating on a poker run.
