questions

Is anyone going out this weekend? And, is there a place around Cape Coral similar to Keywadin where performance boaters hang out? Thanks for any info.

There's a couple of places to hang out with some of the guys. There always a number of boats anchored in front of the Lani Kai on Ft Myers Beach or Picnic Island over near the miserable mile or if you want to ride a little, Charlie Pass (Hurricane Pass) up around North Captiva. Sometimes we just hang out in front of Sanibel also. The water is nicer when you get away from the mouth of the river. But to answer your question, no, there's really no place like Keywadin.

Hi Frank,

Can't answer your question about a Keywaydin type spot in the Cape, but we will more than likely head to Sanibel on Friday considering there will be no issues with weather, tides or mechanicals.

There is a place (park) on north Captiva (can't remember name) that has a couple docks on the ICW and an excellent beach. Bring your own party like Keywaydin. Bob would have the particulars on that spot.

Where is the miserable mile? I've never heard of it.

As for going out on friday, the weather seems like it would be better on sat or sun.

If you're coming down the river from Cape Coral, there is an extended no wake zone we refer to as the MM.

Frank, I'm going out on sat morn to meet a few people on sanibel island to hang on the beach for awhile. I was just going to take the Rinker, but if you wanna hook up for a ride, I'll take the Skater. If you wanna launch at the Cape coral yacht club, you too can experience the mm. Good time for a beverage.

Franksmarine 02-29-2008 07:10 PM

What time do you plan on leaving the yacht club? Let me know so we can meet up.

What time at the yach club? Waters so low, don't know if I can get the boat off the lift.

Frank, Lost your #. Plans changed today. Gonna just hang on sanibel beach. Riding with a friend that wanted to put his fishing boat back in the water after some work. Leaving Palaco 10:30ish from my dock. If Yaht club is shallow, you can put in at Everset. Your welcome to join us, or anybody else. Gonna leave tomorrow to the long boat day. Call me. 315-374-8297. Harry
