I talked to Stu and Jackie Jones from the Florida Powerboat Club today. They will be bringing over their 39 Nor Tech - " King of Clubs". They also plan on doing the overnight stay at South Seas with us.
Welcome back, Stu and Jackie.
Bob

Talked to Ben Payne from Ft. Myers tonight. He and Carrie are planning on coming in their 39 Velocity and will stay for the overnite at South Seas.

This is Ben and Carrie on our SSR visit last year.

Talked to John Costello in Naples this evening. He is planning on riding in Paul Reddish's (sp?), Naples 40 Skater. John's 35 Motion will be their backup if Paul does not get the Skater completely dialed in.

Hmmm. The cats are catching up to us Vee's.

Ken Viken will be trailering his 30' Challenger down from Sanford, FL.
Ken has signed up as a charter member in FMO. He was a contributor way back when we had the initial fund raiser for Jennifur and has kept in touch ever since. Welcome to your first run with FMO, Ken.

Thanks, Bob for the welcome.
Looks' I'm the smallest boat. Don't feel too out of place. Looks like It'll just be me as the better half does not do fast! Any recommendations on a place to stay Friday night? I guess close to the starting point, as I am totally unfamiliar with the area. If anyone wants to ride with me, I would welcome the company.
I'll add $100 to the helo cost.

Ken,

Is your boat a 28 or 30?

Thanks Ken, accepted. If the Gulf is reasonably flat you will be fine with the offshore group however you may want to consider going with Group 2 up the protected waters of the Intercoastal waterway. I expect we may get a couple of center consoles and a few boats under 30 in this group. They will just run 45 to 50 max and maybe your wife would be comfortable in that environment. We will have a paceboat with someone familiar with the local waters lead the way. Either way, you will be fine.
The Sanibel Harbor Resort ( I will post a link when I have a bit more time ) is just a half mile from the Sanibel Bridge where we will be starting from. Also the Punta Rassa boat ramp is right along the north side of the bridge immediately before you cross to Sanibel Island. We will get some Google maps posted up soon to help.
