Well I am back on Marco after an amazing day with all my FMO friends. Nothing but sunshine and great water conditions. The early morning ride from Marco to meet the group at Sanibel Bridge was a bit cool but things heated up nicely as our day went on. We usually avoid taking the full group into the ICW as it can be busy at times but today traffic was light and we had a great ride up to Useppa Island. We were well received there by staff and residents alike. Useppa is an amazing place and everyone I spoke with thoroughly enjoyed our time there. I can't wait to see Jay, Frank, Nick and others pictures of our day.
We had 32 boats pre register and 32 boats made the run. I am quite sure that not a single boat broke at least during the organized part of the event. Thank you all for coming out and supporting your club. I do not have the figures tallied up yet but I know we did very well in our fund raising efforts. Also the winning Captains poker hand was split between Andy Templeman and Joe Sabo and the poker game open to all was won by Craig Hall ( OSO - Old School ) who came all the way down from Maryland to join Alec and Nick / Erin on Alec's Nor Tech. Again, thank you all.

Thank you Bob and the entire FMO team for yet another great day of hi-performance boating.

I knew the low tide Sat morning would prevent me from getting my boat off the lift, as you can see in my pictures the river was very dry. On Fri I moved my boat to my brother-in-laws dock, behind a lock, so the tide wound not be a factor. We spend from 8:30 until about 4:00 boating, what a great day. I ran 114 miles, burned 52.5 gallons of 93 octane, that's 2.17mpg.

All 135 of my pictures are at the link below:

Wonderful day today with the group!
Perfect weather and great water, what else could ya ask for?

I got to the ramp a little early and did some exploring...
a fisherman with a cast net happened by at an opportune time.

Default Go Pro coming.......but not soon. LOL

As it turns out I have some pretty good Go Pro video footage from yesterdays run. I expect it will be well into next week before I can find some time to edit and post it. Lots to do this next few days in FL then back north again.

Default Some firsts for FMO

Some firsts for FMO yesterday.

1) First time we had 7 Centre Consoles in a run.

2) First time we had 32 pre register and have 32 boats show up. ( would have been 33 but someone was 5 minutes or so late, sorry )

3) 3 new first time club members. ( they all enjoyed it and will be back for more )

4) First time FMO ran this size of group up the ICW.

5) First run for John Mattaliano's new Renegade and also new member Jerry Zariello's / NJ new Sunsation.

6) First time 5 boats have come down from Port Charlotte / Punta Gorda together for the run.

7) First time I ever saw anyone wear pink socks and sandals at one of our runs. LOL

I am sure some of you can think of some other firsts.
