Roll Call for FMO Lunch Run to Boca Grande 10/28/17
Attending captains please read entire document in order to minimize any confusion.
We will be going to Miller’s Dockside Restaurant at Boca Grande Marina. If you are attending please notify me by 3PM on Wednesday the 25th. We will need to provide an estimate to the restaurant and marina.
Membership information/renewal:
All vessels participating in FMO events are required to carry insurance and have a current boater’s membership. Memberships are on a calendar year basis and if you have not yet renewed your membership please visit our website at Ft. Myers Offshore. If you renew at anytime between now and year end your membership will be good for all of 2018.
Route:
Our starting point will be the south side of the Sanibel Bridge. Boats should assemble around 10:45am and we will leave by 11:00 sharp. We will run up the ICW in the marked channel all the way to Boca Grande. Depending on weather conditions some may want to run offshore and enter Boca Grande Pass. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend this event. Board member Bill Forenski will be at the bridge and will get everyone started. Bill will be in his 39 Cigarette
Dockage:
The marina has slips set aside for us. The dock master has saved slips for us and is doing his best to provide us with as much room as possible. Please make sure you tip the dock hands, without their cooperation we would not be able to do this. It is also important that you register so we can provide them with a list of boats attending.
Fuel/Distance:
From the Sanibel bridge to Boca Grande and back should be about 80 miles. Fuel is available at Boca Grande Marina. 93 octane is very difficult to find so please leave with a full tank if you require high octane fuel.
Food:
With it still being earlier in the season we should have a smaller group. The restaurant has agreed to let everyone order off the menu.
Weather/Sea Conditions:
To be posted on OSO prior to the run and updated as needed.
Tides:
High tide in Fort Myers is at 9:16a.m.
High tide in Naples is at 6:04a.m.
Safety:
Each boat captain is required to operate his vessel in a safe manner and is responsible for his/her crew and their safety. When running in the ICW please be aware that this can be a high traffic area and we ask that other boats be given a wide berth and that the rules of the road be adhered to. As always our club has zero tolerance for the captain drinking alcohol.
The conclusion of our event is at the restaurant. We will not have an organized departure, each captain is free to leave when they want.

Bob sends his regrets. I just finished driving a car to leave in FL when I got word my 101 year old aunt passed away so have flown back north. A rare day when I miss an FMO event. Have a fun and safe run.
