Info / Roll Call for FMO fun run to Hyatt House Naples - Saturday 01/27/18

Attending Captains should read this information carefully to avoid any confusion.
General Information: We will return to the new Naples Hyatt House on the Gordon River bordering downtown Naples.
Attending Captains will need to read the information below.
This fun run is free of charge to paid up FMO members and there is no event fee
Registration: To register for this club event Captains are asked to e mail either Eric at [email protected] or post on our event thread on OffshoreOnly.com (OSO).
Start time: 11:00 AM from the our usual place on the south side of the Sanibel Bridge.
Departure time from Hyatt House after our lunch and social time will be at your leisure.
Membership renewal: If you have not yet renewed your membership for 2018, now would be a good time to do so as we are now into a new year. Please go to our website at www.ftmyersoffshore.com and complete the online form or download and mail it in. Please note that to participate in FMO events you must be a paid up club member and your boat must be insured. If your insurance has recently renewed or if you have a different boat please e mail your current info to [email protected]
Route: From the Sanibel Bridge we will start behind Eric Belisle’s MTI which will be the pace boat. We will run a coastal course south that will take us past Bonita Beach, past the Naples high rise buildings and just 2.75 miles past the Naples pier you will come to Gordon Pass. The coordinates for Gordon Pass are 26/05/44 N; 81/48/82 W. It is recommended you follow the pace boat or someone with local knowledge up the ICW to downtown Naples as there is a short idle zone just inside Gordon pass and also idle before you get to the Naples City Docks. After idling past Tin City and under the US 41 bridge, turn right and you will see the Hyatt come into view a few hundred yards along.
Dockage: Please stay tuned for additional details on dockage. The Hyatt House has taken over the docks for the rental boats so we will have more options than we did last year. As is the case with all venues please have fenders and lines ready. Be prepared to raft off as docking is limited.
Fuel / Distance: The distance from the Sanibel Bridge to the entrance of Gordon Pass is 30 miles. All boats are urged to leave with sufficient fuel, particularly if you use high octane fuel that is hard to get. 90 octane fuel can be obtained at either Hamilton Harbour Marina inside Gordon Pass off the ICW or Naples City Docks on Naples Bay.
Food: The Hyatt will be serving us a buffet lunch for $25. The $25 does not include tax or tip. They will be setting us up on an outside patio.

Safety: Each boat captain is required to operate his vessel in a safe manner and is responsible for his/her crew and their safety. When running in the ICW please be aware that this can be a high traffic area and we ask that other boats be given a wide berth and that the rules of the road be adhered to. As always please no alcohol for the captains. Our event is concluded upon reaching our lunch destination. Everyone can leave when they are ready

Well the weather is not the worst we have had and not the best we have had
Mostly Cloudy high of 78. Wind out of the East at 10-20mph. With the wind out of the east we can run the coast and be mostly protected.

Below is an aerial view of the dock space we have been guaranteed at Hyatt House Naples for Saturday's run. Two slips and the end of a T dock. The T dock is wide enough to raft of two rows of boats as illustrated. There may be some space available on the T docks to the left but these are for rental boats so I would advise we steer clear of those. The two small docks to the right have about 6' of water at the end of them during low tide so that is also another option.
