Roll Call / Info FMO Season Opener Fun Run to South Seas Island Resort

f you do not register with us you will not be able to dock at South Seas. We must provide captain name, boat description, number of people and captain phone number in order to attend. You must provide all details in e mail to Eric or Tim by Thursday the 3rd at 5:00pm in order to attend. Please read all details as we had issues last year with boats registering. If we have an issue again this year we will not be able to return.

The dockmaster has set aside slips for us to have lunch and enjoy the day at the resort. The standard fee to dock for the day is $50 per boat. Each captain will have to use a credit card to pay the dock fee. When you pay the fee you will be issued a resort card. You must use the resort card for all food and beverage. You cannot use a credit card at the restaurant, they only accept the resort card. Each captain will have to be responsible for the tab of your boat. We do not have a formal room or buffet set up for lunch. Everyone can order off the menu. The resort has a great pool and water slide so wear a swim suit and enjoy the day.

Membership information/renewal:

All vessels participating in FMO events are required to carry insurance and have a club membership. If you register between now and the end of the year your membership will be good for all 2020 events. You can register on our website at www.ftmyersoffshore.org

Route:

Our starting point will be the south side of the Sanibel Bridge. Boats should assemble around 10:45 am and we will leave by 11:00 am sharp.

Depending on weather conditions and the size of our group we have the option of running on the inside ICW or outside in the gulf. We will keep registered captains in the loop as we get closer to the event

Dockage:

The crew at South Seas will be keeping slips open for our group all morning. Please express your appreciation with a tip for the guys helping us out. Remember even if they are unable to assist you in docking they were working for you to keep a slip open. Without them we would not be able to do this.

Fuel/Distance:

From the Sanibel bridge to South Seas and back to the start via ICW is only 30 miles. Anyone that decides to run in the gulf will have a couple extra miles. This is the shortest distance in our schedule. Fuel should not be an issue, however South Seas does have a fuel dock if needed.

Food:

Everyone is on your own to order from the menu.

Communication:

My cell number is 239-849-6533. Anyone dropping out after the start should let me know so we do not spend time either waiting or looking for you. Please leave a message if I do not answer.

Weather/Sea Conditions:

To be posted on OSO prior to the run and updated as needed.

Safety:

Each boat captain is required to operate his vessel in a safe manner and is responsible for his/her crew and their safety. When running in the ICW please be aware that this can be a high traffic area and we ask that other boats be given a wide berth and that the rules of the road be adhered to. As always please no alcohol for the captains. Our event is concluded upon reaching our lunch destination. Everyone can leave when they are ready

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:34 PM.
