They have been working on more HP, but I haven't been told of ETA.. It's probably going to be for the '07 lineup.
What I can say is that it won't be a 300.. :D

The 3.3l E-Tec powerhead has capacity to make 80hp per cylinder. That's 480hp. reliability is the factor.
Going bigger than a 300 really opens a can of worms... A 400hp powerhead is no god if the lower unit won't hang together...

Wouldn't a pair of 350hp OBs be sweet??? 700hps only weighing 1100lb total...

So keep running the Renegade... Repower in '07!!

Repower...thats what I am thinking :D Gotta have more speed!

I love the new E-techs but one concern I have about tham is that even though they run cleaner than most four strokes, they are still 2 strokes and alot of lakes are strarting to ban them. Do you know if Evinrude is trying to do anything else about this Tim?

Banning two strokes is a thing of the past...
Lake Tahoe was a big issue on banning two strokes.. Well, now the police and game commission are running ETecs...
If you know of a lake that is trying to ban two strokes...let me know... I'll have BRP lawyers give them a call...

The government can not regulate a technology, only dirty polution... So haveing said that, a builder could build a diesel, propane, turbine, or what ever..so long as it met CARB 3 star standards..
Certain lakes will be so strict as to not allow combustion engines.. next in line are the lakes that only allow three star engines...
ETec is the cleanest, and the only engine to be both CARB and European Union certified...

I think you'll see the other manufacturers putting more efforts in two strokes..

There is one big manufacturer that says it will eliminate two strokes from it's mainstream lines.... They're banking on they're new four stroke...which could be a disaster.. :(

BRP builds Evinrude Two stroke E-Tecs, and we also offer Four strokes in the Johnson line (up to 225hp). The 4 strokes are rebranded Suzukis...

Suzuki's 250hp is, in my opinion, the best four stroke engine out there..

I have run them all.... (is that a good thing?)..I miss my twin big blocks... but I don't miss the maintenance... Those big blocks always wanted domething from me... but these OBs... man, just hit the key and mash the throttles.. :evilb:

So they actually got politicians to understand that all 2 strokes aren't the same? I'm suprised but happy, thanks for the info.
