Cabbage Key
 

Just wondering if anyone in the Ft Myers area wil be heading to Cabbage Key this weekend? I'm staying in Cape Coral and we are going to make a run out there Saturday. I have heard this is a pretty cool place. I guess I'll find out. Judging by the looks of things, the canal I am at is Nor-Tech central. i would love to see one of those guys out and about this weekend.

There are a few of my families dolloars on that wall. Love Cabbage Key. Nice place to get away and have a few drinks. Do they still have that old generator to make power for the Island. Have not been there in about five years.

I was there for Xmas/Years week on my buddies Intrepid, went to Cabbage Key for lunch, left a few dollars on the wall, awesome place. :D

Good news bad news. It's sold already. Adding some options for the new owner. We'll run it in the FTM Poker run and then it's his at the end of the month :(

Finally made it to Cabbage Key last week !!! Now one of my all time FAVORITE places to go !

You pull in there ... MM 61 .... and it's like you've just been transported to "somewhere better"

Great Place !!! Make sure you get their Black Beans and Rice. The BEST I have ever had ( even in Miami) !!!! :drink: The Otters are cool also. They open up live wells and steal the bait. :D Dave

Interest is peaked, where is Cabbage Key, and does any one have pictures of the wall or bar. Next year (fingers crossed) we hope to have our boat there for the winter months.

Terry the former dockmaster... I dont' care how many times you ever docked or tied up a boat. He would treat people like they'd never seen a dockline or a piling. I had a potential customer/experienced boater on board with me one time. Terry started yelling at the him about his expertise and said "I tie up 25,000 boats per year" I thought he was going to jump off the boat and strangle the old guy.
Of course I always thanked and tipped him and then quietly laughed about his demeanor.
BTW I swore that one day that would be my job but he retired too soon. Maybe I'll be the next guy.

We'll be there either 6/14 or 6/16. I hear it's a good time. Down for the week. Taking the ship down to Key West for the day on the 15th!!! Have to get my liver in shape for the worlds!!

Donna ... Cabbage Key is @ MM 61 just North of North Captiva .... which is north of Sanibel ect.... You can't miss it ! Ofcourse it took me 5 years to find it !!! :rolleyes: I'm usually screwed if I don't have Dietz around to show me where to go :drink: As far as my wife is concerned ... I was thinking about maybe a "foriegn exchange student" type situation with Agnes living in our cottage too ... oh never mind ! :D

Thanks, it does look real nice. Two of our neigbors have places in Bonita Springs, we plan on having our boat down there next year and have a big MI party :drink: , how far is it from Bonita.

We should get a group from Michigan to haul down to Fl. and go boating for a week next spring after the SNOW and salt are off the roads, but the lakes are still frozen. Anyone interested?

why wait till spring, we plan on heading to FL in November in time fort the Key West races. We will leave the BT some where around Miami and visit her a few times in the winter and eventually get it to the Ft Meyers area before hauling her home in the spring

Macutt boat goes 81 on gps It has 2 2.5 pro maxes Runs good it a great boat 30 ft superboat I raced it 1981 &1982 in 27 races in the north East . Cabbage Key Was Easy to find. I will go back again! freeze frame jeff

Freeze Frame: 81mph ...that is fast for a 30ft outboard vee..

I would like to try that setup with a center console deck on that hull..
