All states are diff. In SC they don't even register boat trailers. If the trailer is hooked to a legal vehicle it is OK. The stupid salesman may be right.

NY has boat titles and transferable registrations for trailers. I am a wholesaler in NY, if I can be of any assistance let me know.

I live in GA and I don't have titles for my boats but I do have titles for my boat, car and utility trailers. GA also does NOT require titles on CARS beyond a certain age. It was if they were more than 10 years old but I am pretty sure that it has been moved back a bit. :confused:

Nebraska just started issuing titles for boats in about 1996 or so.

1987 and newer do, older than '87 does not.

Cars 1973 and newer has a title, older does not.

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys without titles use for proof of ownership? Does every state use the UCC1 filing as proof or what? I'm not trying to be an a$$ just want to know so I'm better informed......However, the dude still aint getting an apology for my outburst of laughter ;)

I think that applies only if you bought your boat from National Marine, some do, most didnt. :evilb: :D :D :D
