USCG Documentation vs. State registration

Who knows without a doubt,,, absatively, posolutely,,, for sure, whether it is required to register a boat with the State of New Jersey if the boat is already USCG doc'd?? I know (think) the laws vary from state to state, but I'm speaking of NJ :D :D Thank you!

I'm currently in this 4 week CG cert. class and he says "no way" you do not have to, but he also said, "no ones ever asked him that before"?!?  Not sure I should take his word as the LAW?

I know you don't care, but, in Indiana I still have to state regester it. That way the state gets :rolleyes thier property tax.

How much money are we talking about? It only costs about 25.00 a year in Az. for a 30'er. For the 25.00 bucks I would pay it and know that you are covered.
