42 Tiger speeds???
What are the speed differences in a stepped and non stepped Tiger with the same power? What year were steps added? What year did cigarette go to composite layup on the Tiger and how much was gained by this?

Re: 42 Tiger speeds???
G.L. is accurate with the 7-8 mph difference in the two hulls. They switched over to the steps in 2001. I have 725 hp in my 2000 and Im going to be 1 mph faster the G.L. no matter what he says his speed is !!
I expect to be around 82 MPH .. 80 mph all day everyday no matter what the conditions are |
Re: 42 Tiger speeds???
and your N/A right Bob? hows it coming with the prop tests? In 00 they also started the vacuum bagging of the hulls which helped in strength. Cozzi had my tiger at 73, I'll see how it does in the bay next week... Rob

Re: 42 Tiger speeds???
a friend of mine just sold an '04 with triple 525's and it did 92 mph according to him

Or maybe it's the Phil Lipshutz magic set-up??? I'm turning XR's also and I've been told they are harder to turn than B1's. And I imagine pumping out 630-640 HP each at best??? Everyday I run 78 and light load 80's in fresh. I have hit 82 in salt water with Craig223, Mrs. Craig223, tomcat/Paul and Biggus on board so that's a serious load and they can verify that. :D:D:D Love that cabin!!! |

Re: 42 Tiger speeds???
I think its a little of both G.L. The full ext covergirl must cost a mile or two and Im sure Phils set up adds a mile or two. My drives arent b-1's though. so take that out of the equation. It still adds up to me being 1mph faster. Or maybe .1 Doesnt matter though because these babys have to last an awefull long time and I have to have alot of restraint from pushing the sticks all the way down all the time. Its just going to be nice to cruise at 65 mph w/o beating the mills up to bad. No what I mean

Re: 42 Tiger speeds???
Indio the Tiger is the same running surface as your boat. With the weight of yours I am wondering what you may gain from XR's.

Re: 42 Tiger speeds???
Yes indeed they are:D, I had no idea you only had a half cabin, I just thought with the kids and weekending it you had a full one... i'm just going to do enough to get 85 and thats enough. was told 100 per side is 10mph, so i'll see where it winds up. I chose this one because of maintenence items and dont want to stray from that...:)
|
Re: 42 Tiger speeds???
Rob, 100 per side isnt going to get you 10mph on the Tiger. I added 250 per side and got about 13 mph
