Starboard motor, #5 cylinder had a major malfunction this past Sunday (no compression now). Only a couple miles to a ramp and had a great group of guys out there to help me limp it home (James and Steve that you already met and others). Gimbal ring needed to be replaced on that side anyway. Finally tracked down the previous owner and turns out he blew the port motor and traded the boat in on a new 353. I was going to rebuild both, but the port apparently only has 10-20 hours on it. You'd think they (dealer) would have mentioned that???

So, the truth be known. Who's doing the work for you? If there's anything I can do to help let me know...

Boy has this thread changed direction...but since it's my thread, no bad!!!
Dave Howard has the boat and rumor has it (lLinster) that the machine shop recieved the bottom end yesterday. I need to talk to Dave today for an update. I plan on picking up the boat and sandblasting the mounting hardware, etc. to repaint and cleaning the bilge and a probable re-paint of that too. If you have painted a bilge, I could use any advice you have.
Call me sometime....
