Attention Florida boaters.....
For those of you who are tired of the idiot Manatee policies, I highly recommend joining, or at least checking out the Citizens For Florida's Waterways. This is an agressive boater's advocate group. Currently located on the East coast of Florida, that chapter presently boasts over 3,000 members.
I have been asked to start a West coast chapter of CFFW., which I am very excited about. The CFFW was started up by, no kidding, rocket scientists. They KNOW what they are talking about.
For info on this group go to: www.cffw.org
I should have the West coast chapter ready to accept west coast members within the next ten days or less. Anyone interested please contact me at: [email protected]
The Save the Manatee Club is VERY well financed, largely by greenies who live out of state who have never even seen a manatee. The only way we can combat them is in sheet numbers. Scientists are now beginning to challenge many of the SMC's policies and agendas. The Manatee is now on the "To Be Downgraded" lists, which of course has the SMC club up in arms.
For the real story of what is going on go to their web site.
Everyone should join this group. They are much more agressive than "Standing Watch", which for reason's unknown would not support the "Boater's Rights Rally" held last month which was quite successful in getting our message out to the general public.
One Broward County official when asked about the "Save Family Boating" position, replied that he could not support that because it was "too controversial". HUH?????????????? Family boating controversial????????? What's next: Girl Scout cookies??????
Everyone needs to stand up and be counted here. Otherwise we will have right whatsoever to bit(h about the Manatee issues. Thanks.

Re: Attention Florida boaters.....
FO--timing is critical--there is some legislation brewing in T'hassee to help BOATERS. The Marine Industries Association is following that and supporting it and CCFW is an active member of Space Coast MIA so I help thru that organization also.
I'll get you names of people in MIA over there in the "left" coast --- maybe thye'll help with pubilicty, funding and access to the big players you have in your backyard.
Good Luck--
Like the saying says--I love manatee's--with tartar sauce that is--

FO,
We have been members since 2000. Great organization, Capt. Tom Mcgill lives just up Sykes creek from us. This man has dedicated his waking hours to FIGHTING THE $MC $$ MACHINE.
Hope to see you on the St. Johns for Memorial day.
Thanks for the support.

Re: Attention Florida boaters.....
Dean, I am really psyched about this opportunity. I despise the SMC and this will really give me a great way to channel my frustration with them.
I see you are from Merritt Island. That's where I bought my boat.
Gonna give it a hell of a try to make St. Johns on Memorial Day. I really want to do that. Russ
