Default Speed Racer to make-in water debut

Speed racer will be making his in-water debut at the PICKWICK Races with Johnny T at the helm. Randy Scism took him out a few weeks ago and let off at 150 mph at only 5000 rpm, FYI the motors are designed to run 72000 rpm, should be interesting!

Baddest MTI I've ever seen. Can't wait to hear the results.

Hate to be nitpicking but at 72000 rpm it should go about 2,160 MPH so basically a tick or two above Mach 3... based on 150 @ 5000.

actually if you do the math, and have 5% slip and leave the gear ratio and prop pitch the same it equals 214 MPH,

I think I remember ( ) the MTI guys at the miami show saying that they expected 188-190 mph out of it. That is where the needle on the speedo that's painted on the rear is pointed.

That math is not nearly as much fun... non-ball busting math is boring actually ...
