Well it's great to see that I'n not the only "little guy" out there! :D

I decided to stick with the small block for now. I'll run her and see what kind of numbers she pulls.

I found last year a nice 1975, but winter was coming apon us and thought I would wait until spring. Hopefully the owner has her back up for sale and is willing to deal after paying winter storage or I can re-find his info convince them to sell. Has the 350 with the Volvo drive, runs 58 mph on the GPS. My plan for this one or another like it. Use for this season as is, winter rebuild fully, mild cam and headers, replace the drive.

A Minx would be sweet as well! Smaller fits my needs this year, bigger next, like the Poker Run concept fits my social nature! Once a Month I must spend a week and sometimes half in So Cal. and Vancouver, B.C. Since I can an do take a couple of days off I plan on driving those trips more, drag a Donzi with me! Shasta begs you to take a spin on that lake!

Ya I know it has a lot more left in it then I am getting. I have to test some props this year and fix the trim rams (very slow!!) From the feel of what I am doing now I was thinking in the 70's would be atainable. I was just having so much damn fun in it as it is!!!! :D:D It aint that low in the water :evilb: :evilb:

Just traded my 20' Cig - Stock BBC (454/365) and bravo :D
65mph @ 4750rpm /w 25-Mirage prop.. Great punch....every where.
Does roll a little if you hammer it from a dead stop....ya just steer into it
or tab out of it if it bothers you. :drink:

I don't think a BBC is at all necessary in a small boat. unless you need ALOT of hp. I'm holding a dynosheet for a naturally aspirated SBC, 564 hp @ 6200 rp, 550 Tq @ 4750 rpm, and I can build bigger. SBCs to around 600 hp.
(I sell crate motors). They aren't much cheaper then BBCs at this level of build, but weight and space are issues, and MOST people don't have 600 hp bbcs anyway, (mine go to 820 hp dyno tuned and tested carb motors).

If you want more power out of what you have, just change the cam.

I have a 18" offshore race boat that does around 60mph with only a 70hp johnson, and when I fill the watertank up it doesn't really care how big the waves are ;)
hull is air lubricated via 2 vents on the deck, engine is on a setback, prop axel is flush with bottom
