Don't forget to add $1200 or so in sales tax you will have to pay on it if you do title it in your name. Other wise i think you can just give the new owner the signed title keeping your name out of the deal.

in Jersey by law he would have to flip the title in his name othewise its considered jumping title

Not everything has to be done by the rule book. Kinda like leaving the purchace price line blank for the new owner to fill in. :)

sure you can do that. but in Jersey when i private owner registers a vehicle the Division of Motor Vehicle checks book value and if there's to big of a discrepincy then they mail the proud new owner a bill for tax due on the difference...but i know what your saying

just do what everybody else does when they try to buy, low ball him then listen to his counter offer worked good for me 1 time.
