I can tell you what I would think if someone I know casually would come up to me about my boat and tell me I got screwed...

Is this the boat that is actually an Abbate? If so why not tell him - Abbate is a good brand. I actually have an old Abbate brouchure from the 70's although this particular boat is not on it - only larger boats. Made in Italy.

just my .02

It has an Abbate serial number.
Not sure where it was made. Looks enough like a pantera / superboat / P&D or any other 24ft cig splash.

Oh - I see - It's just an Abbate serial number and not made by Abbate??? I'll post that brouchure later - it's pretty funny with all the 70's Italian syling...

Also Pantera/Superboat/ P&D/Excalibur are not 24' Cigarette splashes - they have a beam of 7'; the 24' Cigarette/Banana has a beam of 7'11".

I stand corrected.
But can you enlighten us on where this hull originated from?
It seems to be a mystery.

Tell him. It's better to hear it from you and some one giving him a hard time at the dock about his boat that isn't a real pantera. No real ethical problem here.

An ethical dilemma would be whether or not to rat out the SOB that glassed back together a totaled Howard cat and selling it as MINT. Opps did I just say that out loud
