Boats Without Rub Rails.....help!!!!

Just purchased Cigarette Gladiator (No Rub Rails) Any suggestions as to how you tie up to fixed piers and pilings without damaging the paint.

I would`nt worry about it. Most piers and pilings are bare wood and don`t have any paint on them to begin with....

I agree, most piers and wood pillings are pretty durable and it would be almost impossible to damage them with you fiberglass resin bucket.......... :D

I tie the fender horizontally around the pilings. So far so good.

Seriously you could get those huge foam pads but they look so gay it defeats the purpose of owning the boat in the first place...

I owned a Gladiator and it drove me nuts that it didn't have rub rails. You just have to be really careful and have good help on board at all times.

To be honest, I never depend on my rubrails anyway. I always have out fenders. I guess I dock as if I owned a Gladiator.

i don't use my rubrails as fenders, i use fenders for that.....

if you can afford a boat w/o rubrails i guess you can afford to get it fixed when it gets nicked.... :D

She is quite handy. When I have her and Johno both on the boat, I feel like I'm with Allstate.

It can be a real nightmare....throw in a good current, a little wind and props turning in on a staggered configuration and it can get real interesting real fast....especially when you are by yourself.....

LMAO, now cuda thats funny, I wont mention the cooder count thread , hmmm maybe some film to get that sack up past your knees? :D.

Seriously though, I have a 20 mil thick clear film that I'm testing for rub rails and keel film. Comes in 60ft Rolls and very easy to self install. Contact me at the number below. Being as it's testing, I'm letting a few people get it for just cost plus shipping. I've used it for years on car headlights. once I'm in the shop I'll post a couple pics of what the film can stand...Rob
