My New Training Wheels

2 Attachment(s)
Well since I picked up a few MPH the Hustler started chime walking and everybody told me I needed training wheels .
I just got my new 380 tabs in and test fitted them and had to cut for clearance for the drives and props.

Its nice having friends that are in the machine shop biz . We chucked it up in his CNC mill and made alittle cut then I debured the edges and shot some paint on them .

Presto training wheels as Joe Hustler called them. Hope they work

Yes :evilb:

Already been there just no GPS to prove it . Talked to Bret at B Blades and sent him the dyno sheets . He said the torque Doesn't drop off enough to hurt and should carry it up to 6000 with some labed 30's I got it up to 6000 with 28's chime walking bad . I gps it at 5700 at 99.6. full fuel and chime walking the other day. Just have to work up to it slowly.I have talked to 2 people with 388's with 750 hp motors and there in the 107 and 109 range on gps.

and I can change a pulley and gain another 90 hp and about 75 ft's of TQ on pump gas if I need to .But the props and tabs should get me there pretty easy :drink:

I hope the longer tabs settle it down some the girls dont like it chime walking

Well there done .I even replaced the anidoeds just for looks . That was a easy job ,it took more time test fitting them than anything else.
If ya don't cut them they will hit the drives and props if the trimmed just right

If the water is good I will try them out Sunday and see if it makes a diff.:drink:

This ladies and gentleman is what we call drunk posting!

Drunk posting can sneak up on you when you least expect, seriously affecting spelling, verbage and rationalization. It has been know to make you think you know it all, which is annoying to those of us who do. It will aslo cause you to yell and slur your word while cussing at you computor screen. In certain cases it will cause you to travel to websites you wouldnt go to otherwise.beware of drunk posting, kids don't try this at home :evilb:

I am working on that next.GPS :D

Actually at 99 on the hand held gps its not reading.I figure its out of the water?

Yahoo I also need to ck the water pressure in the innercooler It may be to high meaning the pickup tube could be scrubing off speed . At 90-95MPH I can look down the side of the boat and see there is a lot of water comming out of the dumps.May be too much?

More testing :D

I don't think thats the location or angle I would have installed the new tabs, but thats a left coast/right coast sort of thing.

Where else would you put them on that boat? I'm sure that is where the factory placed the original 28" models.... Placed any differently and they would be a nightmare to rig... even placing them level with the water (as apposed to level with the running surface like the are now) would cause rigging issues with the drivers and steering.

Was it absolutely necessary to make the cuts in tabs? I've got the shorties and am thinking about same conversion?

Got TRS drives on 33 1/2 centers running on a Formula SR357.

Yes, I tested it and the cavitation plates could of hit when the drives were trimed up and truning. The prop would of hit at one point also.I didnt want to take a chance on it hitting . It has about 1/2 clearance.

It might not on yours youll just have to test fit it .
