Great looking Skater, 107mph was top speed for mine back in 94 with 2.5s. thats a great boat and a blast to drive!! Be safe, it can get your attention every once in a while.

Congratulations....the 28 Skater is probably the pound for pound and dollar for dollar champion of the performance boating world.

We saw 116 with stock Mercury 2.5 offshore race engines on mine........... set up and props is very critical with these boats......

You are looking for 8000- 8200 RPM with 14 1/2 x 32 inch labbed 3 blade Mercury props (unless you can afford Hering or Rolla). Do not listen to anyone advocating any other prop manufacturer....or prop work. If you have the lower RPM ignition boxes...opt for the race units from merc. Engine height and placement is also critical.... Motors should be on 52-54 inch centers..engine height is dependent upon various issues.... jack plates..transom mounts etc.

right now im hitting about 7800 rmps. Tx2 ill break out the tape when i get home and see where everythings at. Maybe you can make some recomendations on set up. The boats on Lake Lanier in Cumming GA. I hope If I get enough seat time Ill feel comfortable to run it in the Poker Run. Everytime I run It I love it more and more. Do any of yall boat on Lanier?
