Just got the new Shotgun hats in to celebrate the splashing of the 29 Shotgun. These are still the "low profile" type hats and the original hats are available in black now also. Dave

And the drive is deep. O.K. The first time Grant ran the boat with a 26P 4 Blade he hit the rev limiter at 75 mph. Second time out, Grant ran a 28P 4 Blade and hit the rev limiter again.......at 81 MPH !!!! At 3000 rpm she was running 42 mph and at 4000 rpm she ran 58-60. I just sent a shorty drive down and we are going to run a 30P 4 Blade and will see speeds in the mid to high 80's !!!! We honsetly think the boat will run 85-88 mph. Not bad for a stock 496HO/XR that you can get a 5 year warranty on !!! The boat is running unbelievable and wants to run faster. There you have the update. I have been trying to keep this in the last few weeks but it got leaked out a week or so ago. I'm picking the boat up next week and will finish dialing it in and then pic's, stat's, etc... will be posted. :drink: Dave |
Re: New Hats are in !!!
Does that boat have any kind of cabin?

That's damn fast for a single 29'er with stock power. I knew the numbers would be nothing short of impressive. Congratulations. Sweet hats, too. |

Hey Water, Yes it has a cabin liner but is limited. Just side cushins and a porti-poti. Dave

Awsome figures. |
Re: New Hats are in !!!
Dave you gotta get it up to the NYC poker run.
Keep dialing it in... I'll have my order placed by 2009!(after I've saved a bit after my home renovation) But I'd like the pricing we've discussed. :D |

And let me add, these are NOT Fountains or Nordic's , and they are not copy cat hulls either. They are Extreme's!!! Dave Warden

Re: New Hats are in !!!
I'm not trying to say your numbers are not correct, just trying to find the difference thats all. Thats a big increase over almost every other boat on the market with that kind of power set-up. Is the boat that much lighter?? Hull that much better??? 29 footer with that kind of speeds something has to give.
|
Re: New Hats are in !!!

Re: New Hats are in !!!
Congrats Dave, cant wait to see the full pkg...

Re: New Hats are in !!!
Dave congrats on your new boat!!!
Is this the boat that I heard rumours about that is going to run F1? What ballpark speed are you looking at in the 4500-4900 lbs range? Thanks in advance for your response and may you have continued success!! Trent |
Re: New Hats are in !!!
I know this thread got sidetracked but your hats look great!!
|
Re: New Hats are in !!!
Hey Trent, I am pulling the boat up from Grant's on Wednesday and want to weigh it at a scale on the way up. All joking aside, the boat probably weighs in at around 4500 pounds. Mark and I were talking about this yesterday. Dave

Re: New Hats are in !!!

Re: New Hats are in !!!
Wardy,
The rolling eyes wasn't there to call your claims suspect, they were there wondering. I have to tell ya those specs are awesome out of a loaded 4500 pound 29 foot boat with 496HO power. Its almost to the point that it makes everyone else look foolish. Please keep us informed with final specs. |
Re: New Hats are in !!!
Thats in incredible speed with that set-up. My 30' single engine stepped hull with a 502 Mag, Headers, Vortech Supercharger with the fuel kit installed at AZSM, at 4400lbs cant hit 80mph. I cant imagine what your hull would run with my power, 600 + hp. Most of the 496's I've seen are lucky to get into the mid 60's. How many steps? Is the X dim high? How does it do out of the hole and through the midrange? What kind of speed are you seeing at 3800/4000 rmp's? Nice job by the way, not criticizing at all, just in amazment..........

Re: New Hats are in !!!
I'm running a 28' Eliminator Eagle with a 525 and a 26p prop and hit 70 at 4800rpm. I need to work on the right prop to get the rev limiter and MAYBE I'll hit 75. I bet Bob Leach would like to know the secret of your hull!
And like others, not calling BS, just interested to hear what you pulled out of your hat that made this possible. |
Re: New Hats are in !!!
Dave
If your heading up for the NYC poker run, let me know. Stan |
Re: New Hats are in !!!
The race setup canopied SVL will get mid-90's with a 525hp Vortec HP3. The numbers are amazing, but nothing short of what Extreme's been doing for quite some time now. Having driven the Vortec SVL boat, I can only say, the boat is incredibly fun to drive.
Way cool, guys! The boat's looking great. :D |
