The Chief gives driving lessons to Tommy
1 Attachment(s)
Tommy and Bobby were out on Saturday doing some prop testing. Bobby gave Tommy an education on how to run in rough water. Tommy is still sore from hanging on yesterday. Nothing like having the chief at the throttles!!!!
It was an easterly wind with 5-8 footers. Bobby made the Apache dance all the way from Ft lauderdale to Haulover inlet, completed in about 15 mins. I just wish I was one of them on the beach watching those nuts go by, there was no other powerboats out there. No big deal for Bobby, they averaged 65-75 all the way. WHAT A RIDE THAT MUST HAVE BEEN!!!!!!! Here are a few pictures of them coming into Harbour Towne. Kathy |

Kathy,
Great pictures! Wish we could have had some action shots. That had to be a blast having Booby S show you what your boat can do. When are you guys bringing the boat back home? Dan |

Good morning everyone--------yes, the sun pad is purple, really gives the boat some great lines. The door is also purple with the Apache logo stitched into it. We also changed the deck hatches from smoke to white. It really makes a difference in the appearance.
The boat was owned by David Hess out of Richmond. He now owns a 28 Apache that Bobby built for him. We are in contact with with him and his dad often. Super nice people. The boat will be in Lauderdale for another month to month and a half. It really does not get nice up here until July anyway (if that!!!). Have a great day and hope to see you all out on the water this summer....... Kathy and Tommy :p |
Re: The Chief gives driving lessons to Tommy
Just a little bit of nice to know history for all of you Apache guys.
Kathy and I were sitting around on Saturday night with Bobby and Holly and talking about old times. He spoke of when he and Benny decided to strech the 41 to a 47. They along with Tommy Evans would leave from 188th st and run wide open to Haulover cut and then go out and play in any conditions to get the feel of the boat and get it ready for the up and coming season. I'll talk to bobby and try to get some pictures of the 1st 47 that was built and rigged by Tommy Evans. He said the 47 was just that much nicer than the 41, it was like riding in a cadillac as opposed to a chevy in the rough snot. Tommy |
Re: The Chief gives driving lessons to Tommy

Re: The Chief gives driving lessons to Tommy
Tom, Kathy, the boat looks great!! Thanks for the compliment. Were you able to get any good data from the prop testing? Take care, David

Re: The Chief gives driving lessons to Tommy
David, We ran 80 but way too much RPM with the 28 labs between 56000 / 58000 and I have to get the RPM down between 53000 / 55000. I brought the 30's back with me and am having those set up with Brett from BBLADES and they will be ready for this week-end when I fly back down.
How is Krista feeling? Im sure you both cannot wait for the baby. Do you know if it is a girl or a boy???? How is little David doing? Give Allison a hugg for me. By the way, this is Kathy, Tom is yelling all the information to me. Say hi to everyone for us. Kathy ;) |
