Still looking. Was going to go with 496's but I have a 7 pin harness. Right now I want to get the boat running, and I dont want electrical headaches. Looking for 454 or 502 carb motors.

MT, did you talk to Shawn about the wiring harnesses? It could be very simple. I will never go back to carb motors again! Turn the key and go.

Are you looking for complete motors or longblocks? If you need longblocks go here. I have a pair of their 502s and very happy. www.1800runsnew.com

Actually, I forgot that my harness was an 8 pin and it plugged right in to the 10 pin on the new motor. No problems whatsoever.

Since I have a 7 pin plug, and the efi engines have 10 pins, I dont see how it could work. I dont know if they make an adapter or not. I just dont want to shell out a bunch of cash, and then find out ill have to shell out a bunch more for harnesses etc. I can put the motors in, but rewiring the dash is a bit much for me. Plus, im tring to keep costs to a minium

I'd call Shawn and ask him, he will know for sure. Like I said, mine is only a 8 pin and it plugged right in and it fired right up. I didn't have to mess with any wiring at all. The ECU just needs to get power.

I literally went from th motor being on the crate to running in my boat 2 hours later. I haven't touched a thing since then. Just running the hell out of it!

MT, just an FYI. The motor needs one power wire to run. Just because an engine has a harness that has 10 female holes that doesn't mean your boat needs all 10. Some boats have 7, some have 8, some might have 5. Bottom line is your harness will plug in and work fine.

I may be repowering my 35 fountain and selling my 502s because I cant get the whipple efi superchargers. I would consider selling my 502s for a fair offer. They have 80 hours with stainless marine exhausts and 800 holley carbs and make 475hp and I run 74mph. Iam in Canada and I don't know if that is a problem for exchanging.

I replaced a pair of Mercruiser TRS 370's with MairnePower EFI 454's. It was plug and play with the harness plug. THere a a few wires you don't need--engine warning light is one.

Get the engine plug pin-out and compaer it with pinout of old engine--it was a simple job for me.
