Depressing Michigan weather
 

This sucks, I had to work on Saturday which was nice and sunny then off Sunday which was cold and rainy. I've got Memorial weekend off and its supposed to rain all weekend. Im thinking of trading in the powerplay for a cruiser. I hate to do it but i need some canvas and a windshield if im ever gonna get out on the water. :( Please send some nice weather to MI. :drink:

Not to steal your Michigan thunder but my boat's bottom is yet to get moist never mind in the water - the deck on the other hand will be growing moss soon. I'm afraid to put in the lake - I'd end up driving 3 hour round trip 2x week to recharge batteries for the bilge pump. The canvas top isn't beading water anymore, its water logged and isn't dry long enough to spray. Did I mention its about 50 degrees?

I feel your pain, it finally got nice yesterday at around 5 PM :(
I am sitting here looking out at rain and 12 flats of unplanted flowers. Mr P took the shrink wrap off the ski boat, which is now squeezed in the garage cause he has not been able to get the cover on the hoist yet. Not only are we missing boating but all the stuff you have to do in the late spring is getting put off also. Some memorial weekend to look forward to, mid 60's :( .

To feel better about MI weather, read the noise thread about LOTO at least we don't have that problem. :D

Guys, Guys, thats exactly the reason I left. After living in the midwest and dealing with crappy summers, and subpar winters (Chicago) I had had enough. Picked up and moved to AZ were the suns always shining and boating is a plenty!!! Just need the canvas to keep the sun off your back, not the rain!!! :D

yea I was looking at your weather there on the news,brought back some old depressing memories.Like idleing around in the rain in the boat drinking beer on Memorial Day ,was not going to let the weather deny me my day of boating.That was 21 years ago and was my last memorial day in Michigan.

I don't think i would go as far as to buy a cruiser but I feel your pain :(

We've been busy so I've been working six days a week since January.... this weekend the plan was to spend three nights at the islands and hopefully not remember any of it :drink: but it doesn't look like that's going to happen :(

don't feel special...here in the 1000 Islands the 10 day forecast has the little picture of raindrops for everyday. :(

The only savior in this, is the lack of pressure 'cause I'm not finished with a laundry list of installations and upgrades yet.

another week or so should wrap it up...

So far this will make six months of $hit weather.The boat is sitting under cover in a boathouse waiting to be used.Our forcast is calling for rain not only through Mem.weekend,but into next week as well.I will be heading south as soon as I can arrange everything.This is ridiculous.

Sunday was bad, but Saturday was pretty nice. We launched for the first time this year around 1-1:30 and anchored out for the Air Show. The sun was shining and the Blue Angels were doing low altitude fly-bys. The kids even got out in the water.

The trick is that you have to take what it gives you. Call in sick, work Sunday instead, it's not going to be nice all the time.

It's bad 4 out of 5 Memorial weekend's.

I have friday and monday off work - for what I don't know.

Can't golf with bad weather either.

Bill272, That was my plan for Sunday, even had the trailor hooked up. I would have gone if i had a boat where we could get out of the weather. Maybe i need one of those sunbrella thingies? :D Ohh well August is usually nice.

I was getting my house ready to build a deck on Saturday and around 1 o'clock the guy helping me looked at me and said "screw this, let's go boating, we can do this on a crapopy day." Off we went and in the water 1/2 hour later and stayed there til dark. One of the nicest days so far.

Like Bill272 said, take what it gives you! Glad I made it out cause it doesn't look good for awhile. But remember, that can change quickly here!

Guys, don't feel too bad. In NH, we have had 5 weekends in a row of rain and crap. Temps haven't gottent out of the 50s (at best). If this is god's country, he must have moved :D

I went out Sunday, I had to get on the water ( I went fishing saturday so at least I got to enjoy the water) Saw 2 Skaters a big 46 Black Thunder, and a lot of cruisers with there canvas up. It was cold and we got rained on, but I was boating damn it. We need a big south wind to blow some weather up her this thursday for the Memorial day weekend. Keep wishing eveyrone.

I just got back from the Detroit metro area last nite. We got there Friday afternoon to a beautiful day. Saturday was also very nice. Sunday turned into a real crappy day tho. Had to leave Monday bright and early to come home. It was raining when we left home Thursday nite. It looks like storms here (Delaware) now. I agree- the weather sux.

90 Degree's here in Ft. Lauderdale today...Just the way I like it. Left Grosse Ile, Michigan in 1982...Never looked back. :drink: Ed

I hear ya and would if I could but the wife won't go, hates heat and won't leave family. Tried for compromise in Carolinas but she won't go. SSOOooooo I get to listen to her about the waste of $ in the drives way that doesn't get used. :argue: :blaster:

Same weather in Lake George, nothin but rain & 50 degrees.
Lets see........ it got cold at the end of september....... and its
still cold. Thats about 8 months of S hit weather. Aint the northeast
grand.
