Re: Lake Winnipesaukee Speed Limit Petition
Thanks guys,
This is what we're up against. On one hand they say the lake is too crowded, on the other they say a speed limit will bring more people back to the lake. Huh? Since boat sales at all the marinas are up, doesn't seem to me like too many people are staying away. This is simply an attempt to ban a type of boat from the lake that they don't like.

Please help us to support HB162! Protecting NH's boaters is the first and best step towards improved safety on Lake Winnipesaukee. We feel this law will bring many vacationers, boaters, and tax paying residents back out onto the lake, leading to improvement of the Lakes Region's economy and saving many local businesses. The majority of NH residents and lake users feel that HB162 is the first step towards making Lake Winnipesaukee safer. Through boater education, outreach programs, awareness programs, AND REASONABLE SPEED LIMITS, life on the lake will be better and safer for all. As the lake becomes more and more crowded and dangerous every year, the fast crowd will continue to pretend high sppeds are not dangerous, will fight any reasonable restrictions on their fun, and will try to trick you into thinking that performance boats are the target. Don't buy the hype! Speed is the problem.

Sent the opposition a blistering email. Copied to Cuda and maybe he'll post it here, that's beyond my computer genius.
