Question for the outboard guru's
Just purchased a 30 spectre with 2003 300x's as many already know. Was reading an article that recommended use of electric fuel pumps in order to keep fuel pressure up. Any truth to this or is it wasted money ? Thanks. After buying these outboards its like learning how to boat all over again...sorta enjoy it. And love the pkg.

I agree this outboard stuff is way different.
Ive heard (and I aint no guru
) that on the 300x's you dont need an additional fuel pressure pump and it is not recommended to run anything between the fuel tank and the motor, ie additional pumps, filters, connectors ect. The 300x is all self contained.
As you know Im new to this motor as well and look forward to others comments.
PS NOT looking good for me getting a lower by this weekend. These things are way pricey compared to just about anything else out there. I can buy a complete set of Bravo's for the price of one LH 1.62:1 Sportmaster lower.

What is a decent price?
Ive called just about everyplace between here and Florida and a new set is over 8K and used for 6K. These are spares so its not a NEED TO HAVE item. If you know of someone to call please let me know.
2.5 lowers are priced from $1500-2500, not sure why there gouging the 3.0

I spend a lot of my time there these days. Most of whats listed are 1.87 gear ratio's, lots of small shaft, fleetmaster, torquemaster etc.
There just doesnt seem to be a lot of 300x's stuff around.
My next questions are going to be what the effect of a gear ratio change will be and or how much are gear sets to change out.
I have money in hand and would really like a set of spares, if I could find a set for 4k I would be on it.
