I lived near Sebastion as a kid. Visited recently and in 30 years it hadn't changed a bit. If I could, I'd move back there tomorrow, buy a double wide (with a slip) and spend the rest of my days fishing and listening to Jimmy Buffet.

It's a very pretty area. I've only driven thru there, but would love to stay a month or so sometime. Everything seems a little harder to get to. Which can be a good thing.

My brother just purchased a place there ... off the water :( I have not been there yet. We're familiar with Jupiter area and he said it like Jupiter 20+ years ago ... it is growing and will probably be very different, sooner than later ... especially now that MY brother is there :eek: :D :D :evilb: :evilb: The town is ruined ... stay away LOL :drink: Sebasian inlet is nice .. Titan, Give me a call down the shop tommorrow , and I 'll tell you whatever you want to know about sebastian . My mother has a place there on the water for the past 16yrs and my boats spend the winter vacationing in the area. I have also looked into real estate down there . Sebastion is kind of like Tarpon Spirngs--little drinkign town with a fishing problem. THe boating is limited unless you like the river, the outlet can be tough if the weather gets marginal. It's go the Old FLorida look nad feel.

Orlando is about 70 miles away, Ft Pierce, Very Beach are nearby with lots of boat -oriented businesses.

If you like low-key life style its great. Check out Capt. Hirams--little waterfront Key West kind of place.

I've never boated there, but I used to drive from St Pete to Sebastian Inlet just to fish for a day, and drive back. It was a 280 mile round trip and worth it. I used to fish all the time, and standing on the jetty fishing for huge blues at Sebastian was THE most exciting fishing I've ever done in my life.

That inlet gets EXTREMELY rough. It's a shallow inlet, and if the wind's blowing in, and the tide's going out, it's almost impassable. I've seen 40ft+ cruisers come to it, then turn around and not try it.
