70+ MPH, ok. I'll try not to piss everyone off by passing them, turning around and passing them again! That never gets old LOL! No I wouldn't do that.(More than twice) Hope to see you there.
Big Yellow Cat, WTF where is the cat going to be? I'll say hi and buy you a beer if I see you at the cliffs/swings. Plans are to be there Sat. Gonna have the 2 year old with me so probably will be halfway sober :drink:

Re: How many Tablerock boaters

Hey Jason we talked before, Maybe we'll run into each other this weekend now I know what your boat looks like. I think I saw Bill3's boat last weekend I didn't talk to him because I was on my sea-doo didn't think he would talk to a guy on a "jet ski". The weather looks like it will be o.k. not as warm as I would like it but no real rain. Maybe see you guys sat.

how far is that from the dam?

rdp145 05-27-2005 08:54 AM

Re: How many Tablerock boaters

If you want to stay close to the kimberling bridge theres Ahoys and the Bearded Clam [ sounds more like a strip club] but its a rest. with a outside bar. They both have docks out front. If your near the Dam you can go to the Long creek area they had a small rest. there but no bar I'm not even 100% sure its still there. Also near the dam is Indian point which has a little burger place and Rock lane Lodge had a dock and rest. but I haven't been there in awhile. I live by the bridge so I know more about Ahoys and the clam.

It is a long dam way. Look for marker 23 or 24. It is between the two of them.

Re: How many Tablerock boaters

Don't be surprised if there are long waits and bad service at any of the places in Kim City. It's usually bad on non holiday weekends.

The dam is about 12 miles or so from the Kim City Bridge. The swing is about 8 miles or so in the other direction. Down by the dam you can go to The Chateau on the Lake for fine dining and spirits (way too classy for me) or past the dam on south about 5-6 miles is Big Cedar with has the best Sunday brunch around. I have also been told that you can leave your boat at Big Cedar and they will shuttle you to Top of the Rock to eat (I suppose you could bring your clubs, but I usually don't carry them on the boat.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Bill

Ran with a loaded up Baja down river for a while- was it one of you guys? I've got an American flagged 28 Pantera.

We are in Kimberling City, just SE, overlooking the bridge. Daughter has ruptured eardrum so not sure we will make it down this weekend.

Well, I'm in for brunch @ Big Cedar. That would be a good run for Sunday. Anybody in?

do any of the bars in kimberling city have a dock I could pull the bluewater up to, would probably end up staying tonight there so I will not have to drive all the way back to long creek.

Good Lookin Bluewater. What size and length?
We have a 54' 1996 up on Grand "The PlayPen"
We have had a few issues with one of the motors and the guy we have used at the marina we keep it at has been unsatisfactory. Anyone you recommend on Grand whom is familiar with Blues? It has twin 502 crusaders.

Later,

Finman

Ya, you can't sell the CL gig short Clay. :D There'll be some "other" boats, including possibly an 80+ MPH Crownline or 2 and 80+ and even 90+ MPH non-Crownline's. Oh, and it looks like a 65+ MPH Sea Ray deck boat may just be there too. It won't be at the front of the pack, but it won't be at the back either. :evilb:

I go to the bearded clam and ahoys, but I have heard that there is other places, but I have not found them. I had ahoys give me a ride up the hill to the bowling alley and that has been the high light. I have been to the swings and than back past the cliffs by the dam and no further.

If any of you guys are on the lake this sat. there will be a band playing at the swing from noon to 3. They are from K.C. names Karma they do this every year, they play form a houseboat tied at the bluff, then they go to the clam to play there. If you get there early enough you can get close enough to hear.

Well that is a good question! My wife wanted to leave Wichita Sat. morning. Ok, still have from 12:00 noon on to be on the water. Get to the house at 12:00, guy that is supposed to have taken care if some cosmetics on the boat didn't even get out of bed till 11:00. Thanks Dad. Go get the boat out of storage, dick around with tthe stuff that should have been done while I was traveling and at 3:00 we were on the way to the ramp. Buy gas, Dad decided it would be nice to "fill 'er up" as a forgiveness gesture. He had a stroke at the gas pump (not really) when the pump went north of $200. I laughed! Bought a 6 pack of beer to calm my nerves. Kicked it out of the truck at the launch ramp, broke 2 open, could only salvage one, it was foamy and leaking. Downed the other 4 on the way to the house. It is only about a mile by water. Got to house, wife pissed for having 5 beers in 20 minutes. Load boat, go see a friend.
Sunday morning, kid got me up at 5:00am, I'm not in the mood to be up at 5:00am. Wife gets pissed, again. Eat breakfast, plan of action for the day: Cliffs. Get to cliffs, no naked women, wind is blowing 8000 miles per hour, saw BigYellow cat, did not want to ask to tie up, forgot anchor in Wichita, did not want to humiliate myself at the time. Stayed about an hour, un-assed the area, went to Port Grill, ate, took nap. Went to party at the "Liquid Lounge" 2 hours late, food cold, everyone already drunk, no chance of catching up, old folks wanted to go home, it is only 11:00pm.
Monday, same story. Nobody could get off their asses to do anything. Should have left them at the house and went out on my own. All my friends went home at 12:00 or so, lake was dead, sent Dad home and the wife and kid and I went to 21 and tied up and did a little swimming.
Decided to stay till tuesday.
I'm a glutton.
Much past that my weekend was great, could not have went any smoother!
