Well I pulled the trigger to the tune of 6155.20
Well, Just sent my ck today overnight to Alliance Marine to the tune of 6155.20. So now Im insured for 1 more year. If you know anyone looking for a turn-key boat with awesome graphics and all the bells and whistles stay tuned to OSO classifieds after the Memorial Day weekend. Is a 2004 30 Spectre O/B 300X promaxs.
Look at these motors as silencers exhaust. They won't have the noise police hasseling you. |
Re: Well I pulled the trigger to the tune of 6155.20
If you live in FLORIDA these are the kind of premiums your looking at..No layups in Fla. and the 4 hurricanes last year probabley had a little to do with the price too.

Re: Well I pulled the trigger to the tune of 6155.20
I can't blame you, need to get your boating fix!!!! Its just unbeleivable whats going on with insurance now a days. At this rate in accouple years anyone that owns a cat won't have insurance policies and these 80-90 MPH boats will be paying 6,000 a year!!! (HOPE NOT)

Re: Well I pulled the trigger to the tune of 6155.20
I was talking to my business partner the other day about the rising cost of boat insurance, and he had a good laugh. He just sold his Robinson R44 helicopter this year and he told me it cost him $24,000 a year to insure it, and he only had it insured for the value of the loan 200k, and not the full value 350K. When you compare that to approx 8K a year for a 750 K boat it doesn't seem so bad anymore.

Re: Well I pulled the trigger to the tune of 6155.20
Jiminy ..why 6K Can you break it down ? All liability? How much are you covered for .. I have 2 million in Liab. for my biz and its only a couple grand.
How do they base it ..age , driving record, value of the vehicle etc Thats a rediculous amount for ins !!!! |
Re: Well I pulled the trigger to the tune of 6155.20
I dont think anyone knows how they break it down. That was the cheapest of the 2 premiums. Most of it will be liability. Its the going rate down here in Fl. Remember alot of guys are paying mid 3's with a 5 month layup. Cant get layup insurance down here. A friend in my club with a 36 Spectre was quoted 11,000. It has twin 650's, but still he cant accept that either as a premium. If you wanna cat your gonna need deep pockets or need to live up north were you can get that break on the layup period.
|
Re: Well I pulled the trigger to the tune of 6155.20
There gripe is when these boats file claims their usually totaled and a death is involved. I cant argue with that, but if you been in one for 3 years, you gotta be doing something right. I'll bet most of the claims were people new to the boat or the sport.

Re: Well I pulled the trigger to the tune of 6155.20
Are you kidding me....Only two companies on this earth are writing them...As soon as you tell them top speed 110, they say good bye and I mean everyone!!! Its the standard 300k liability with replacement value a 5k ded....Just like everyone elses in this market....Why do you think im so bumbed..The policy is enforce as of today. Its binded till the paperwork is done. Sy,Bob, everyone tells you if you want it its goona cost you.

Re: Well I pulled the trigger to the tune of 6155.20
<<I called my agent and told them what is was, rated hp and everything, $1500 a year. But I also have my house, my trucks and everything I owned insured through them. The 35' Cig I was looking at was $1300 a year. Hard to argue with an extra couple hundy for this. I think I'll pay a couple years in advance to lock it in. >>
What do you make of this ? |
Re: Well I pulled the trigger to the tune of 6155.20
He says that now, then sends it to underwriters and they'll send it right back at him telling him "No Way" Walked that walk several times. Some were right up front with me and told me they would write it, but it wont get by the underwriters so I can save you the headache now. Even my insurance company that has 4 of my cars and the house, said CANT DO IT..

Re: Well I pulled the trigger to the tune of 6155.20
